The Priority of Praise

Life is filled with lots of distractions. All too often what is most meaningful can be crowded out by the mere mundane. It is essential and hope. It's a paradox of the Kingdom that when we don't strive and we let go of self-centeredness, God is exalted and He takes care of us.

God is great. He deserves our adoration simply because of His awesome attributes. He is Almighty (all powerful), completely good, totally wise and absolutely holy. We can and should worship for Who He is.
We must also praise Him for what He does.

He has been the propitiation for our sins. (Hebrews 2:17, IJohn 4:10)

He provides for all our needs. (Philippians 4:19)

He protects us as we position ourselves properly. (Psalm 91)

He grants power for us to be His witnesses. (Acts 1:8)

He gives promises and directs our paths. (ITimothy 4:8, Proverbs 3:5-6)

He is a Present Help in times of trouble. (Psalm 32:7, 46:1, 50:15.

It is an amazing thing that as we offer to God the honor that belongs to Him, He bestoes blessing on us. The Psalmist proclaimed that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3) and that in His presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11)

Our Wonderful God is worthy of worship.

How Great is Our God is a praise song that often swells in my heart. Here is a link to a video so you can enjoy it with me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKLQ1td3MbE
