Who Am I?

It is interesting to do a self- assessment. It isn’t always easy to make an honest appraisal of who we are. I have a very dear friend who was given the assignment for a teaching course to describe herself using 8 nouns. I am honored that she shared her articulate and insightful personal evaluation with me. She also expressed interest in what my response would be.   Since she said she would love to know my list, I took her up on the challenge and labored to compile a list of my own. Here are my self-descriptive nouns: Friend - While I wish I could be a better friend (more considerate, more generous etc), I consider the title of friend a true honor. Despite my shortcomings my strengths as a friend are that I love and care deeply and I am fiercely loyal. Communicator - I love to talk. I need to be a better listener but I enjoy that too. Pathway to Peru

I am anticipating an awesome adventure. My dear friend Melina and I will be traveling to Lima Peru at the end of October. As part of a team sponsored by Joni and Friends Wheels for the World outreach, our mission will be to deliver wheelchairs and hope to those in need. Many children and adults in this South American country do not have sufficient resources to afford mobility devices. Physical and Occupational therapists volunteer along with mechanics and will custom fit donated refurbished wheelchairs. Melina and I will go along to serve in a support role where needed. Not only will Melina use her talents as a gifted writer and skilled translator, she has graciously offered to assist me with my personal care needs. I am grateful for her kindness. I hope to participate in the counseling and education component of the mission. I plan to post progress reports regarding p reparation and planning. Thus far: My passport has been ap

What is My Life's Special Message?

I started writing today in the journal a very dear friend gave to me. It almost feels like a precious or sacred beginning. "Say things to the world that are true..." Is written on the cover. This morning I started reading Romans and I didn't get beyond the first verse. Paul was called to be an apostle a special messenger of the good news of and from God. I started to wonder if we each have a special message that our life conveys about God's good news.  I want my life to tell the truth about Who He is. I also read a precious promise in Proverbs one verse 33: But whoso hearkens to me [Wisdom] shall dwell securely and in confident trust and shall be quiet, without fear or dread of evil.
