Jesus Our Immanuel

 God with Us

“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.””

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

The angel came to Mary and announced the miraculous birth of Jesus. This angelic messenger declared the title Immanuel.  This proclamation told us that not only was Jesus to fulfill prophecy and be our Savior,He was to usher in the presence of God

The Bible is replete with promises concerning the blessings and benefit of the amazing wonder of a gracious God who is willing to be with us.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14

I can’t presume do you have the ability to identify all of the significance of “ God with us”, but I do hope to share encouragement based on what I am learning of how his presence blessed us

*Assurance of God’s presence with us can free us from fear.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

*Therefore, we should be courageous.

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

“so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?””

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

*He is with us and protects us.

“But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

““Because of the devastation of the afflicted, because of the groaning of the needy, Now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will set him in the safety for which he longs.””

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭12‬:‭5‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

*In God‘s presence, not only is their protection and safety, there is joy!

“You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭11‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

*God promises to be with us always.

“… and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.””

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭20‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,””

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.13.5.NASB1995

“Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭35‬, ‭37‬-‭39‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
