Calling Orphans Home
God cares about orphans.
Psalm 82:3 New American Standard Bible
Vindicate the weak and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.
He has put it on the hearts of many of His followers to have concern for orphans too. It pleases God that those who have a genuine relationship with Him meet the needs of the poor and those who have noone to care for them.
James 1:27 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to)visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by)the world.
I am privileged to know many who deeply care about orphans throughout the world. Several friends either have become adoptive parents , or know that it is part of God's plan for them to bring orphans into their families.
Two young couples with whom I am acquainted are actively and personally involved in the adoption process. One couple completed the adoption of a precious little boy from Ethiopia. The other are currently in the process of preparing to bring their new daughter home from Africa as well. They have created a number of products to sell and begun a website to raise money to fund adoptions. When you visit http://www.callingorphanshome.com/ you will read the inspiring blog postings documenting their adoption journeys You will also see the array of lovely items for sale. Purchase of a T-shirt, totebag, or other item will help them to bring their little ones home.
The photo below is the T-shirt that was hand made especially for me.
I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.
It is a wonderful comfort to know that according to His kind intention, we have been chosen to belong to Him.
Ephesians 1:4-5 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
He chose us in Him before (the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him In love 5He predestined us to (adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,

As I think about the value of having a heart for orphans, I am reminded of God's lovingkindness for us.
Jesus promises His followers that we will not be abandoned,
