Because He Lives
John 14:27 (Amplified Bible) 27Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] We all long for security. Especially in these troubled times, we seek peace and rest from anxiety. Today I read chapter 14 in the Gospel of John. In this passage of scripture Jesus comforts His disciples, tells them of His oneness with the Father and instructs them comcerning the role of the Holy Spirit as He prepares them for His departure from this world. As I read I sensed the bewilderment of the disciples and the patient determination of our Savior to reveal His purpose and plans to those who love Him.
