Presence or Presents
Winnie, my dog, taught me a lesson tonight that when we love someone, we just want them to want to be with us I called Winnie. I was feeling a bit sappy and just wanted to snuggle with her. I just wanted her with me because I love her very much. Winnie eventually came to the edge of my bad, stuck her nose up looking for a reward. When she realized I didn’t have any treat to offer she simply walked away.. It made my heart ache to realize that she just approached because she was expecting to GET something.. She wanted something for herself, I just wanted her. I realized then how God‘s heart must feel when we only come expecting a blessing that benefits us, rather than simply wanting to be with Him, enjoying His presence just because He loves us.
